Hard work beats talent! But what happens when the talent hard works too? It’s all about how much we care about it and how much we give it concentration In our lives. What is your life all about? I may not have a perfect answer but the truth will always remain the truth from the truth. It all starts with passion and perfection to what you want to achieve.

Talking to innovate and finally from a talk we speak and speak the change for the welfare of our nation, people and to put the truth in place in fact, we DEBATE.
Imanzi U. Yannick, Kabayisa N. Geraldine and I, Ishimwe Magnifique in fact, call us TEAM BLACK. We were not only black in melanin and debating but also black at work. I mean having and creating facts and being able to defend them. It all starts and ends in 2017. Only one year, was enough to make and create history that wasn’t ever done, since the beginning of our school i.e. more than 5 decades from now. We simply teamed up without any intention but ended up with aiming at an ambitious goal that wasn’t done ever since. With Geraldine being the first speaker, I Magnifique the second speaker and my big brother from another mother Yannick the third speaker.
Our Adventure began in the first Kigali debate league (I DEBATE) first edition 2017. In Kigali debate league we usually play 3 matches for the first round. Only the win at every match drives you to the next round of 4 (quarter finals), Semi-finals and then the final. At our school, no team had ever completed the first three wins in order to emerge to the quarter finals. But no sooner had we team black played our fist competition together, we won the three matches and emerged to the quarter finals with two wins against Maranyundo on both positive and negative, and a win against Gashora girls’ academy. This was taken as an impossible win in our school. In fact, I was at an extent of not being worried however we could even loose to the quarter finals.
Furthermore, we sat on the table of quarter finals versing the FAWE-GAHINI and not in further judgement from three judges we won the match. This was more than amazing to see our selves in semi-finals, it was hard to believe it’s we team black performing this. The next draw was semi-finals off course, Saint-Andres against IFAK. It was our first time to see Six judges on the table taking the final decision for our team! Personally, I felt that this was even enough for us, but my team-mates always wanted to achieve more. But up-sad, we lost against IFAK due to lack of enough experience compared to them. This is a memory my mind can’t forget either in debate or in my entire life. Why can’t I forget this memory?
In our school history it was the first time when we ever had the best I debate Kigali speaker among the top twenty speakers of the tournament. But surprisingly Geraldine made it to the first speaker of I debate first edition 2017. Furthermore, it was also the first time when all the three speakers came among the top ten because Yannick and I were also able to be the 7th and the 10th respectively.
Hardworking
Passion
And faith were our weapons to each and every match that we came across. Giving value to each and every team and believing in a winning spirit, drove us to what no one had ever achieved.
My both teammates are now done with their 12th grade, but it’s up-sad that they are leaving me in the 10th Grade! Am much worried who will I team up with in the next two years, but I believe In God and indeed yes, he shall grant.
I will always cherish their presence in my life and look forward to achieving more.
I made a choice and my choice made history! Do you too have a choice? Do you believe that your choice can make history? It’s high time you work for your adventure.
